Free Shakespeare In the Park Performances

In 2026, audiences are invited to enjoy William Shakespeare's delightful comedy As You Like It, presented in an engaging abridged format perfect for longtime Shakespeare fans and first-time audiences alike.

There is something magical about watching Shakespeare beneath an open sky. This summer, Adirondack Regional Theatre is once again bringing that experience directly to communities throughout the Adirondack Park with our annual Shakespeare in the Park tour.

All performances begin at 6:00 PM. Bring a lawn chair, a blanket, your favorite picnic dinner, and enjoy live theatre surrounded by the beauty of the Adirondacks.

Saturday, July 18 – 6:00 PM – City Beach, Plattsburgh

Friday, July 24 – 6:00 PM – Social Center, Elizabethtown

Saturday, July 25 – 6:00 PM – Bill Earl Park, Champlain

Filled with romance, mistaken identities, witty banter, and memorable characters, As You Like It follows Rosalind as she flees into the Forest of Arden after her father is exiled. Disguised as a young man, she encounters the love-struck Orlando, leading to a playful journey of love, laughter, and self-discovery. Along the way, audiences will meet lovesick shepherds, clever fools, feuding brothers, and a cast of unforgettable characters.

Although admission is free, donations help us continue bringing professional theatre to parks and public spaces throughout our region.
