About

Adirondack Regional Theatre

ART Summer Camp - 1.png

Adirondack Regional Theatre is a dynamic and culturally diverse organization of people from all walks of life and age groups, joined together in their commitment to producing a high-quality theatrical experience. Since its beginnings in 2000, ART has been a staple of North Country summers, performing outdoors in downtown Plattsburgh at the Lions Club Band Shell on the banks of the Saranac River at the foot of MacDonough Monument and other locations. Clinton Community College named the group "Theater Company in Residence" from 2007-2012. In recent years, the group has been performing in the historic Strand Center Theatre.

ART has presented its outdoor family-oriented musicals free of charge. Corporate sponsors, advertisers, and donations from the audience have funded all ART productions. The Mayor's Cup Festival organizers hired the group in 2004, 2005, and 2017 to perform as part of their main stage series. ART has also been hired to entertain audiences at both SUNY Plattsburgh and Clinton Community College.

The ART team is committed to fostering a nurturing environment for young actors to explore both the art of theater and their own identities. We offer a creative platform that not only cultivates self-confidence and poise but also enhances socialization, time management, and teamwork skills—all while ensuring a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

“ART came into our life at such an incredible time. COVID was just ending and my girls were eager to be a part of something again. The ART community took them in, supported them, pushed them creatively and encouraged them to be unapologetically themselves.  The relationships we have built while being a part of ART have been life changing. I'm so thankful we have them in our little piece of the North Country. ”
